( It's understandable and she doesn't blame him. The heart and the mind can only take in so much before the strain is simply too much. She only hopes that them spending time as a family can help strengthen him - or comfort him. )

Maybe I have it backwards? ( A smile blooms on her lips and she kisses his cheek. ) Either way, we have plenty to look forward to, don't we?
