( Padmé has never seen the village teeming with so many people. She makes her way out, dressed somewhat plainly. As the newcomers walk from one place to the next, she follows them with her eyes, trying to place their faces. Her memory is good - she knows she can rely on it.

There are so many worlds in her "universe". Surely someone from one of them will come to visit?

Even so, she schools herself carefully, trying not to hope too much. She knows all too well the pain of dashed hopes and broken dreams.

Should you wish to run across her, she won't stray too far from Luke's home, though she will make sure she can be easily seen. Said task isn't easy considering her short, slight frame, yet, as ever, Padmé gives off an aura of authority that is hard to overlook. )



{Lightning meanwhile has perched herself on a roof. She isn't dressed in her armor - though she did find it - but she is carrying her shield and gun-blade. With new arrivals come new dangers.

[One of the first things Obi-Wan did, upon finding himself returned to Luceti, was to seek out Luke.

Followed, shortly thereafter, by a double-take as he saw a familiar face near Luke's home.]

"... Padme."

[Alive still. How terribly pleasant and definitely not reminding him of any horribly traumatic memories nope.]

"It's been a long time."

( That voice. She finds herself smiling and turning before she even sees his face. )

Master Obi-Wan! It has been a long time. ( Yes, she remembers those events clearly. She's sorry he had to take part in them. ) I had hoped to run into a friend. It seems this is one wish the village will grant.

"I've noticed that one thing we never lack in this village is company."

[And pain, lots of that. Naturally.]

[Alive.]

So you recall being here before? ( It doesn't surprise her. ) Thank you. I've been given three precious gifts in this village, though one was taken away from me.

[His smile turns a bit sad.]

"I think I can guess at two of them. Who was the third? Was Leia here as well?"

Luke mentioned that. I had hope that you would return.

( Though she wonders if that's selfish? )

Briefly. She was returned not long after her arrival.

[He nods. And he does understand the feeling, and certainly doesn't begrudge her the desire for friends.

After all, all he had to look forward to was nineteen years in the desert and a final heroic sacrifice. And even that was more than Padme had left.]

"Perhaps it's just as well. I never met her myself, but from all I know of her, she likely resented the confinement far more than Luke or even Anakin would."

( This embrace comes far too late, but she had to ascertain he was the Obi-Wan she remembered. She doesn't take anything for granted anymore. )

She was strong-willed. I know Luke misses her, but he doesn't seem terribly worried for her safety.

( Her voice lowers and she bows her head. )

I have done my best to protect Anakin from his future.

( Her expression darkens and she releases him, shaking her head. )

I never imagined it could get so bad. How do you manage to keep yourself safe?

[The sheer Force presence of the Skywalker family is enough to draw this newcomer down the path from the plaza, stumping along one his cane. As he approaches, the first thing Yoda notes is the young woman sitting out front. He smiles as he hops up onto the porch, and affects a slight bow.]

An unexpected pleasure this is, Senator Amidala.

( Padmé smiles warmly and bows her head in return. She offers the seat next to her and rests her hands in her lap. )

The pleasure is mine, Master Yoda. Did you arrive recently?

I have seen Master Obi-Wan in the crowds.

[The old master hops up into the offered seat and nods his head.]

Yes. Strange, my arrival is. Asleep I was.

[He frowns, because she'd definitely been dead when he'd last seen her.]

I felt like I had fallen asleep too. ( But that had been her death. Yes, she experienced it. ) Far too long. I am glad to see you. I have much to thank you for.

Such matters were out of your hands. I never dreamed such a dark future would surround Luke and Leia. ( She doesn't speak of Anakin, though, in a way, she feels like he is a victim too. ) You did not stop fighting. Luke told me you helped train him.

[He sighs, obviously old and tired.]

Luke and Leia...a better life they deserved.

Jedi always put too many burdens on their shoulders. I'm afraid you are not different, Master Yoda.
